WHAT VACCINES ARE REQUIRED FOR MY DOG'S STAY ?

-All dogs must be fully vaccinated including Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

For the health and safety of our guests and staff, written proof from your veterinarian is required for all cats and dogs prior to check in.  In the event the owner fails to bring a vaccination report prior to check-in date, Barking Lot Kennels  has a right to refuse services.

All vet records will be kept on file until they expire.

Written proof of vaccinations can be given to us:

- In person on or prior to check in

- Email a copy of certified vet records to barkinglotkennels@gmail.com

Please check your pet’s vaccination report for the following as these are the vaccines required to board with Barking Lot Kennels

Cat vaccinations:

- FVRCP (booster)

- Rabies

Dog vaccinations:

- DH2PP (booster)

- Rabies

- Bordetella (kennel cough)

Please note: Many veterinarians administer the Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine by request only.

BORDETELLA (KENNEL COUGH) INFORMATION

Bordetella is a highly contagious respiratory virus among dogs which easily spreads through the air.  It is found throughout the world and is known to infect a high percentage of dogs at least once in their lifetime.  The risk is higher where dogs are in confined areas with other dogs, which includes dog parks, boarding kennels, grooming facilities, etc.… Young puppies often suffer the most severe complications from this virus as their immune systems are immature.  Also, there is a risk for older dogs, pregnant females and dogs with pre existing respiratory diseases.

Symptoms are, but not limited to

:              - Persistent cough

                              -  Retching

                               - Watery nasal discharge

                               - Loss of appetite

                               -  Lethargic

Please contact your veterinarian if any of these symptoms develop.

Unfortunately, vaccines are not 100% effective.  Even vaccinated dogs can get kennel cough.

-Please bring your pets food and medication if needed.  We provide beds, blankets, bowls and lots of fun.

All our kennels have access to a exterior kennel of equal size as their interior one, sheltered from the elements by an low sloping roof . We have four kennels that can accommodate a family of four large dogs, four more that can accommodate three large dogs and the last ten can accommodate one large dog each. 

We also have two , three story cat condos for your feline friend.
